Manual Handling Policy
The Dewpoint Group is committed to promoting the health and safety of its employees and subcontractors. Manual Handling is a major hazard in the Construction Industry.
Manual Handling involves any activity requiring effort to lift, move, push, pull, carry or hold any object.
In order to prevent or reduce the severity of injuries arising from manual handling activities in the workplace, the Dewpoint Group will ensure that, as far as practicable:
- The plant and equipment used in the workplace are designed, manufactured and maintained to be safe and without risk to health and safety when manually handled.
- Safe work methods are identified and carried out involving manual handling assess to control health and safety risks through work redesign, use of appropriate mechanical aids and the provision of training and information to all Supervisors and workers.
- All supervisors and workers are aware of policy, procedure and responsibilities in relation to manual handling as set out in the Dewpoint Group Safety Plan.
